Public transport has been a struggle for daily commuters but by bringing tech into it, Tummoc is trying to make things easygoing by providing pre-booking of seats in public transport.

How has been your journey experience so far with your public transport application?

It's been an exciting journey for us, as we are fulfilling the purpose of providing the best multi-modal transit platform to our users along with ticketing and tracking. We have faced several challenges as well but it was all about consistency, how consistent we were. Also, about the learnings and failures. Challenges were so many be it, financial, technical and product. When we started as Tummoc we received several grants from the Government of Karnataka.

What kind of changes in the number of bookings have you seen pre and post-pandemic?

Since, we first introduced BMTC bus passes, the adoption rate has been rising every month, with an average growth of 1.5X in lasts eight months

What's the brand USP? What steps are being taken by the brand to make commuters' life seamless?

Tummoc is multi-modal transit app that provides multiple modes of transport within a city, covering various aspect of these modes. Right from first and last mile connectivity and online booking of digital tickets. We are building a complete end to end transit solution which will provide a hassle-free commute experience for those who rely on public transport.

We make commuters life seamless by providing journey planning, ticketing/pass booking and tracking, first & last mile connectivity, single ticketing, a user can avail of services like journey planning and pass booking with first & the last mile connectivity.

Is your application backed by collaborations with various state governments?

We have collaborated with Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), to resolve the city’s daily public transport concerns via digital ticketing or pass options. This feature allows passengers to buy BMTC bus passes via the app. It minimises the ticket troubles for BMTC & customers and removes the dependency on physical cash.

What is vision with respect to your application?

We are working on a feature in the app where users get an option to customise their rides with single QR. For example, a user can tell us that he needs a minimum walking distance for the first file,or ask for a suggestion where the first mile is not needed. And we give him all the options of reaching his closest public transportation mode without using the first mile.

Our goal in the future years to be the only B2B and B2C transit system provider in the industry. Right now, our focus is on B2C, but we plan to expand to B2B in the near future. Once it is accomplished, we can truly declare that we are building an effective transportation network for India. We are also further eyeing to go live in around more than 25 cities by the end of this Financial Year.

Do you feel is there any change in the mindset of the customers with respect to using more public transport then using personal vehicles?

Yes, as per our recent data evaluation nowadays, commuters are making a conscious choice by switching to public transport and sharing rides which also reduces the emission and traffic on the roads. Tummoc as a multi-modal transit application, also ensures users get the right information, like how a commuter can travel hassle-free and check the available economical ride for their destination on the Tummoc app and via different modes of communication online and offline.
