Tata Motors Repudiates Reports About Selling Stake In Passenger Vehicle Business

The company denies the recently published reports by some media on Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle stake sale and potential partners.

Tata Motors denies the reports of selling up to 49% stake in PV Business and also clarifies that the names of potential partners/investors mentioned are incorrect and misleading. The reports had claimed that the carmaker was in talks with European and East Asian car manufacturers for partnership. 

"The report that you refer to is factually incorrect, highly speculative and misleading and we are taking it up with them," said Tata Motors in a statement issued. All such published news about and Tata Motors to sell up to 49% stake in PV Business’ and the names of potential partners/investors mentioned is incorrect and misleading," the statement reads.

In March 2020, TML had announced the intent to subsidiaries its PV business as the first step towards securing mutually beneficial strategic alliances that provide access to products, architectures, powertrains, new-age technologies, and capital.
