Most of the scooter companies started focusing on the 125-cc segment in this year, continuing the trend, Hero Moto Corp recently launched Maestro Edge 125. Hero had entered in the 125cc segment with its Destini 125 and that was positioned as a family scooter. With Maestro Edge 125, Hero aims to capture the trendy, and style aficionados with its new offering.

Design: Hero Maestro Edge has been launched in three variants- carburetor drum brake variant and carburetor disk brake variant and FI (Fuel Injected) variant. No major changes have been done in terms of the design of the Scooter. At first sight, it will remind you about the Maestro 110cc scooter. The new Maestro Edge 125 comes with dual-tone paint touch. The scooter misses out on LED headlamp and indicators, but it does get an LED set up at the tail section. The Front Cowl, Side Panels, and tail lights are redesigned in the scooter.

Features: Maestro Edge 125 is equipped with many features like -external fuel filler opening, mobile charging port, two luggage hooks, boot lamp, and a semi-digital instrument console. The external fuel cap, ignition, and boot can be operated using a switch on the key. Maestro Edge 125 is the first scooter in the segment to get Fuel Injection compatibility.

Ride: The Hero Maestro Edge 125 is equipped with 125-cc single-cylinder, air-cooled motor. It faultlessly caters to the needs of a city commuter. The scooter reacts with immediacy and thanks to fuel injection the throttle response is very good. The Maestro FI version has slightly smaller fuel tank capacity compared to the carb version. The FI variant is powered by 5-litre fuel capacity while carb variant with 5.5-liter fuel capacity. The handling of the scooter is smooth even at higher speeds. The miniature vibrations can be felt between when you cross the eco range of 50kmph. The overall driving experience was decent as it managed to perform for what it is designed for.

Conclusion: Maestro Edge all three variants are priced nearly between 58,000 to 62,000 and Rivals of the scooter at this segment are Suzuki Access 125, TVS NTorq 125 and the Honda Activa 125. Considering Fuel Injection, Peppy Motor and Trendy Design, Disk-brakes and LED DRL it is fair to say that, it is value for money.
